Ian David McDonald's Obituary
Included below is Ian's obituary as well as links to the livestream and chosen charity:
Ian David McDonald, 59, passed away peacefully on May 23rd, 2025, and has been welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus. He will always be remembered for his integrity, patience, and joyfulness, for his willingness to share with anyone in need, and for his faith and family, the two most important parts of his life.
Ian was born August 5th, 1965, in Garden Grove, California, to parents John and Barbara McDonald, and he married his lovely wife Deanna on March 11th, 1989.
He was a man always moving, fixing, gardening, and doing—living life with a servant's heart. Ian found joy in leading Bible study, coaching soccer, fishing, and playing games with his family. He poured his faith into action by writing curriculum for a new believer’s class at his church, and he served as a mentor at every opportunity available. His greatest legacy is the life he built with Deanna, and the values he instilled in their children.
Ian is survived by his wife Deanna, his children Laura and Daniel, his parents John and Barbara, and his siblings Kevin and Christine. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Evan and Peter McDonald.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life service that will take place at Parkview Church, Palm Coast, on May 30th, at 11am EST. The service will also be available online for those unable to attend in person. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ian’s charity of choice, Christmas Come True.
