Ilizabette DaFonseca's Obituary
Bette daFonseca left us too soon, passing away after a short battle with sepsis of the liver, this past Saturday the 19th of July.
She was christened Ilizabete and grew up in New Jersey but her dream was to move to Florida. She realized that dream 2 years ago and opened her home to friends and family to visit.
Bette worked in real estate and had been working for Bill Miller (Coldwell Banker) in St Augustine. Wrong word to use, “work” – as this was not a job to her, but another group of friends.
Bette kept in touch with friends going back to elementary school – some of these friendships have been around for over 50 years! She was a fan of Days of Our Lives almost as long, still recording that soap opera. She loved to craft and decorate and was very fashion forward, yet could recite football stats with any male, being an ardent fan of the Miami Dolphins for decades…one of her Frenchies was named Shula.
Bette’s life was cut short with this unexpected infection, and sadly, there are things she wanted to do that she will not get a chance to accomplish, but the legacy of love she left behind?
Impressive.
Bette was predeceased by her parents, Miguel & Ilma daFonseca and is survived by her two heartbroken sisters, Lisa Infanzon and Tina Whiffen.
A memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service in Bunnell, Saturday the 26th at 11:00 AM and a second memorial will be held in New Jersey in August.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the local Flagler Humane Society is requested.
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
