Elizabeth Rowe Groothius
Sending warm thoughts of condolence to my cousins. I am saddened to read news of my sweet aunt’s passing.
Inie was intelligent, thoughtful, beautiful, interested and interesting, loving, thorough, attentive, understanding, amicably agreeable yet held her own strong beliefs, and perhaps the first person to make it fashionable to “repurpose” like a champ. She always remembered everyone and everything and could make you feel as though you were the most interesting person in the room. She was quick to laugh at herself or with others about life’s quirky situations, but never laughed “at” others. For me, Inie was a comforting and helpful presence at all of the emotional passages in life; my first period, break-ups, going to school, funerals, moving into my first apartment, holidays, etc. She was a skilled orator, and we will always treasure the memory of her reading poetry beautifully at our wedding.
I pray she is at peace with our beloved Uncle Thomas and I send prayers of comfort and strength to our family along with lots of love.
…beth xx
