Inez Sylvia Moore's Obituary
Inez Sylvia Moore was born on April 14, 1921 in Manchester Jamaica to James and Catherine Russell (nee Farquharson). Her siblings were Gwendolyn, Edna, Sydney and Kathleen Russell. The family later relocated to Kingston where she grew up. During the 1950s Mrs. Moore migrated to the United States and settled in Brooklyn, New York, where she lived until June 2019 when she moved to St. Augustine Health and Rehabilitation Center, Florida. where she passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
Mrs. Moore was a devout Christian who loved children and spent most of her adult life caring for them. She married Leslie Moore in 1948. She is survived by son Walter (Gee) and Jacqueline - stepdaughter. Also grieving her loss are grandchildren Andre (Ginger), Andrea; great grand children Toni, Brianna, Khristopher and Lauren, nephew Trovel (Michelle) and niece Jennifer Knight. Her eldest nephew Herbert Knight, and grandson Walter Walker Jr and his mother Lorna predeceased her.
God blessed Mrs. Moore with 101 years in this life; a stewardship she managed with dignity. She never missed church until immobility dictated otherwise, but always, always kept in contact with her New York church family. Mrs. Moore would always anticipate her church’s annual one week crusade in June when she would host her local and international church family at her home, where she catered to their needs (food and fellowship). No one left without a token of her appreciation. Thanks to Ofelia Jones and Ovelta John for their unwavering help and support while she was in New York.
Heritage Funeral and Cremations Service of Bunnell, Florida is assisting the family.
