James W. Gurley's Obituary
James W. Gurley, 75, passed away at the Bailey Center on March 5, 2017. He joined the US Navy working on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He retired from General Tire in Charlotte, NC then moved to St. Augustine. Jim loved the water, boating, and fishing! He was an excellent cook and entertained his many wonderful friends at his home. He serving the best ribs, low country boils, and fried fish anyone could ever imagine while watching his favorite team the Florida Gators. All who new him will remember his loving heart, great smile, and wonderful soul! Jim never met a stranger! He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Jannie Gurley.
Jim is survived by his wife Karen,her 2 children Ryan and Erin Mae Winters. His 3 daughters Lisa Gallagher, Kim Ward, and Amy Gurley. Jim had 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren!
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date.
