James Kenneth McElroy's Obituary
James Kenneth McElroy Sr., 70, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away February 6, 2025 surrounded by family.
Born October 21, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Gloria Shank (Shinn)and Joseph McElroy Sr.
James attended South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown MD, where he met the Love of his Life, Kendra.
He was a machine operator at Certainteed Corporation in Williamsport MD and retired in 2003.
He loved sports and was a diehard Ravens and Orioles fan. He was a world class Bass fisherman and a Master mushroom hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kendra, whom he married on January 10, 1972; Children Jami Harris, partner Steve, of Hagerstown MD and her 4 children, James McElroy Jr, wife Carice and their 7 children of Hagerstown MD, Sarah Allen, husband Jamie of Palm Coast FL and their 4 children and Jerry McElroy, wife Jesse of Deltona FL and their 5 children. Brothers Joseph McElroy Jr and wife Peggy of Ocoee FL, Jacey McElroy and wife Donna, Jody McElroy and sister Judy Straub all of Hagerstown MD. 20 grandchildren, which includes Kaycee Holland whom he raised and 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends.
He was preceded in death by his fur baby, Jayden, Brothers Jack McElroy, Jerry Jay, grandson Xavier and great-grandson Oliver.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life in Florida as well as Hagerstown MD, to honor his life. Details to follow.
