Brother Jerry's family, there just are not enough words of comfort to say that would erase the pain of sorrow, dry tears or feel once again the touch from our loved ones passed into eternity. Our beloved Jerry will truly be missed of the love he gave from his heart to everyone, that was his signature, his calling. He was the first to say, "Here I am Lord, send me! His gentleness of spirit will live on in our hearts, now in the arms of Jesus. He was my "Angel", though we never met, his faithfulness, devotion & support to Thiessen Roadhouse Ministries was not only generous but honored in God's eyes as a "fine & faithful servant". To my husband, My Mighty Oak, the most Kind and a Gentle man I have ever known. He loved the simple things in life. Gardening, Walks on the beach, hiking trails. He loved thunder storms, to see lighting and to hear the rain, and then looking for the rainbow. He Loved the Lord and lived a life that honored God. Jerry was one of a kind, a blessing to my life. I miss you Jerry so much! You are in the presence of God, it must be glorious! I LOVE YOU!

I knew Jerry for 40 years... I met him back in 81 when I was a Drafting contractor at Intel, I was 20 yrs old... His Drafting table was behind mine so it was easy to go and ask him questions when I had problems... He never brushed me off or treated me like a rookie and we became friends ever since, we even shared the same birthday... We talked or texted each other all the time and called every yr on our birthdays... He was really a great guy, and was like a big kid who always smiled and joked... He was always doing something to keep himself busy from drawing, repairing his watches or selling stuff on ebay... I didn't really know you Rita, but you made Jerry very happy, and I am glad he had someone... Im sooo sorry for you loss and for the loss of my friend... :(

I didn't know Jerry for very long but in the short time that I did, I found him to be a kind, gentle, caring man who was also an extremely hard worker. From time to time he would stop by my house when he saw the garage door open and we’d chat. On occasion he’d ask me to come over to his house to take a look at the work he was doing. I distinctly remember how hard he worked in the backyard, for weeks I might add, just so that he and Rita could see the evening sunset from their house and Lanai.

The last time I spoke to Jerry was when he stopped by to borrow a tool so he could trim the grass from the small retaining wall that he was repairing. At that time he asked me to come over to the house and take a look at the work he had done. He seemed genuinely interested in my opinion and without question, when he was done, the wall had been repaired to perfection. He took such pride in his landscaping accomplishments and as any of his neighbors would attest, he was ALWAYS working in the yard on something.

Jerry seemed to love living in our neighborhood and I believe he genuinely cared about all his neighbors. In the short time I knew him, I considered him to be a good neighbor and friend. I will sincerely miss our quiet impromptu garage chats.

Rita,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Although we have not known Jerry & you very long we too lost a good loving, caring friend. Jerry always wore a smile. Loved life & everyone in it. Always positive & loving God first. He was a shining star. We enjoyed his company so much. We will treasure our friendship & look back on the memories we all built together & be glad that we met Jerry. We know you will miss him as we will too. Focus on the beautiful memories you shared together. Hold them close to your heart as no one can ever take those away from you. Be glad he is in a much better place now. God be with you always. RIP our friend. We will miss you.

Rita,
As a neighbor, I often saw Jerry diligently working/ trimming his plants. He meticulously filled 3 barrels (neatly) for the yard pickup. He always wore a smile and spoke of his blessing to be in sunshine and to be so close to the beach. One can feel his Joy.

I was happy to hear that you and Jerry got married this summer. When I encountered the two of you, walking hand in hand, it was clear that you have a special bond.
Love can’t be measured by “TIME”. Your Special relationship …although short lived, your LOVE will outlast “TIME”.

Please know that prayers are lifted for Gods comfort over you and the Stodden family.

Jerry was my Nephew by marriage. But my friend by choice. His kindness and joy for life was infectious, his love of God inspiring. His laughter and Blue sparkling eyes will forever be in my memory. Dear Rita I am so sorry for your loss.

Our hearts go out to you. Sincerely. As neighbors (and snowbirds who were not here since May), we didn't know Jerry well - but well enough to know that he always went out of his way to be friendly - and to "connect" with you. I always appreciated that about him. I remember the day I visited your house back in May where he gave me the tour of your house and all the great ideas he (and you) had to make the grounds even nicer. He seemed to have the touch of a happy gardener.

We are so sorry for your loss. Jerry will be missed.
