Joan F. DiFrancisco's Obituary

She absolutely loved a party and was often the center of attention which suited her just fine. Joan enjoyed playing piano and the organ. Her theme song was “Just a Gigolo”. If you were lucky enough, Joan would serenade you with a wonderful organ version of “Happy Birthday.”
Joan was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 37 years and shared a powerful message of recovery. It’s safe to say she saved many lives- especially women on Long Island, NY and Flagler County, FL. She was beloved by so many of her AA fellow members- young or old, male or female, they all appreciated her spirit and passion.
She is survived by her 2 brothers, Robert and Timothy Lewis; her three children: daughters Barbara Zimmerly and Tina Cascio, and son John DiFrancisco; plus numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved her like a mother. To them, she was everybody’s “Favorite Aunt”. Joan was married to Frank for 50 years before cancer took him Home to be with the Lord. In Florida, she spent many special years with her loving and caring companion, Gerry Inhat.
Her funeral mass will be held on October 4 at 11:00 am at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church locate at 815 N. Central Avenue, Flagler Beach, FL. 32136. Family will receive attendees starting at 10:00 am.
