Joanne C. Sweeney's Obituary
Joanne C. Sweeney, 88, passed away in Palm Coast, FL on March 19, 2018.
Joanne Edwina Cooper was born in Lake Forest, Illinois on November 8, 1929.
She is the daughter of Harold and Charlene Cooper.
Joanne worked for over 20 years at the 1st National Bank of Lake Forest where she became a personal banker and trainer. Her hobbies were bowling and golf. Joanne loved the arts, music and theater. She generously contributed and supported the Alzheimer’s Foundation, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Joanne resided in Dunedin, Florida, Palm Harbor, Florida and was a resident of The Villages for many years before moving to Palm Coast, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Sweeney who served as Lt. Commander in the Navy.
Joanne is survived by her three sons; Rod (Brenda), Jeff (Kristie), and Kirk (Michele), 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Son and Daughter in law; Rod (Brenda), Grandchildren; Andy (Sarah), Tim (Jenny), Matt (Jennifer), David (Lori), Mark, Greatgrandchildren: Kyle, Drew, Oliver, Colby, Gracie, Maddie, Evan, Luke.
Son and Daughter in Law; Jeff (Kristie), Grandchildren; Theresa (Mike), Sarah, Adam, Great Grandchildren; Lucas, Rylan, Bennett.
Son and Daughter in Law; Kirk (Michele), Grandchildren; Everet (Shana), Rebecca (Vinny), Great Grandchildren; Jyllian and Eva.
She was loved and respected by many friends and family including the Erickson Family, the Sweeney Family, the Humay-Duffy Family, the Kanes Family and her dearest friend, Carole Childs.
A memorial service will take place on May 5th, 2018 at the Tradewinds Condominium Club House in St. Augustine, Florida at 11:00 A.M. A luncheon will follow.
