John Unger's Obituary
With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of John Unger, age 92.
John was born on June 6, 1933, in Bakonyjako, Hungary, to the late John and Maria Unger. He and his family later moved to Germany, where he lived until May of 1952.
In 1956, John married the love of his life, Rose, with whom he shared many wonderful years until her passing on November 23, 2012. Together, they built a beautiful life, including their home on top of the mountain in New Jersey. John was self-employed in home construction and took great pride in his work.
Outside of his career, John enjoyed playing golf and tennis, and he especially loved skiing during the winter months. In 2000, John and Rose moved to Palm Coast, Florida, where they spent their later years together.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose; his children, Susan and Michael; his parents; and his siblings, Jakob, Mary, and Joseph Unger.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Ariel Rodriguez; his sister, Anna Unger Meyer; his brother-in-law, Steve Burghoffer; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 23, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast, Florida.
