Joseph M. Hanlon III's Obituary
Joseph M. Hanlon III, born in Teaneck, NJ on August 24, 1965, to Joseph and Roberta Hanlon, passed away peacefully, leaving a legacy of love, loyalty, and dedication. He was a man of many passions, from his love of anything with a motor to his adventurous spirit on the water with his skis. Whether you saw him cruising on the roads or on the lake, his enthusiasm was unmatched.
On January 13, 1998, Joe married the love of his life, Carrie Kerekes. Together, they built a beautiful life, and in 2002, they moved to Florida, where Joe ran a successful landscaping business, admired by his many loyal clients. He was known for his honesty, loyalty, and for always speaking his mind. His generous heart meant he'd give you the shirt off his back, and his unfiltered opinions were always a mark of his authenticity.
Joe was a regular at his local Dunkin' Donuts, where he became a beloved figure known for his love of coffee and warm smile. He also had a soft spot for his four golden retrievers—Rosie, Daisy, Lily, and Dahlia—who brought him endless joy.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents and his cherished dogs, Rosie and Daisy. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Carrie; daughter Skylar Son in law Neil ; granddaughters Starla and Luna; sister Deb and brother in law Scott; brother Rob and wife Tracey and mother-in-law Carol. He will also be missed by his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a close-knit group of lifelong friends who were important to him.
Joe's absence will be deeply felt by family, friends, and anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His impact and memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
A funeral will be held at Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service, located at Marvins Garden unit G-7, 4601 East Moody Boulevard, Bunnell, FL 32110 on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 12 noon. Visitation for the public will begin at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to help Carrie with funeral costs and unexpected medical expenses.
