Joseph H. Schachter's Obituary
Joseph H. Schachter of Palm Coast, FL passed away December 18, 2015 in Palm Coast, FL at the age of 89 years. He was born August 13, 1926 in Newark, NJ to the late Dr. Harry Alton Schachter and Eva Schachter nee Haste.
Joseph was a hard worker, attending college at Monmouth University West Long Branch New Jersey as well as serving in World War II Army. He was stationed in the Philippines during his time served in the United States Military. He finished his career and retired from the Director of Purchasing for Hamblet and Hayes, Salam, MA. He moved to Florida in 1992 from Lexington, MA. He has the pleasure of spending his 65 wedding anniversary with his surviving spouse, Janet O. Schachter on April 22, 2015.
Joseph was an avid reader, master wood carver, loved fishing and rides on the beach. He was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family as often as he could.
Joseph in survived by his wife, Janet O. Schachter, daughters, Pamela Beatty and her husband Stephen, Quincy, MA, Jo Ann Schachter and her husband Brian Connelly, Lexington, MA and Denise Anderson of Palm Coast, FL, brother, William Schachter, Miami, FL, granddaughter, Jennifer Willard and her husband Abbott, Durham, NH and great granddaughter, Adeline Haste Willard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Flagler County Library, 2500 Palm Coast Pkwy NW, Palm Coast, FL. 32137 or Flagler County Special Olympics, c/o Barbara Quadara, 4 Birchview Place, Palm Coast, FL. 32127.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday @11:00am, December 29, 2015 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Palm Coast, FL.
