Juana Celestina Gordon's Obituary
In loving memory of Juana Celestina Gordon, born April 6, 1938, in Roatan, Bay Islands of Honduras, to the late Samuel Gordon and Imola Webster. Juana was the 6th child of 6 children.
As a young girl, Juana learned to fish, cook and sew, she enjoyed being outdoors and spent a lot of time in the fields with cows and horses. She graduated from high school and began her career as the manager of The Hotel Coral. She was an amazing baker and known across the Island for her baked goods.
She met Whitney Woods and birthed her only child, a son, Wilrick Woods. Years later, she met and married, Arobia Welcome, until she became widowed in 1984. During their time together, they adopted a baby girl, Samantha Gordon.
Juana came to America in 1992 and joined the Fellowship at Premier Baptist Church in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was widely known as Aunt Jane or Mother Jane because she took care of others and raised many children as her own.
Forever, Juana will be in the arms of her Lord and savior. She has joined her husband, parents and four of her siblings in Heaven. She will be celebrated, honored and loved by her son, Wilrick Woods; daughter in law, Annette Woods; daughter, Samantha Stone; son in law, Kevin Stone; grandchildren, Mycoll Brooks and wife, Shellon, Joseph Woods and fiancé, Tracy Barr, Twila Woods and fiancé, Marcel Plowden, Tiana Nelson and husband, Jason, Kevin Stone Jr., Joshua Stone, Josiah Stone; 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; sister, Thelma Webster a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including her closes ones, Ophelia Allen, Ines Solomon and Ivey Cooper.

A Celebration of Juana’s life will be 10 A.M., Friday, October 14, 2022 at Palm Coast United Methodist Church, 5200 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast, FL 32137, with Pastor Kevin James presiding. Visitation will begin at 9 A.M., Juana will be laid to rest at Volusia Memorial Park.
A reception will be 3:30 P.M. – 7 P.M., Friday, October 14, 2022 at The Elite Ballroom, 515 Palm Coast Parkway SW, Palm Coast, Fl 32137
