Julian "Rooster" H. Durrance Sr.'s Obituary
Julian H. Durrance, Sr. “ROOSTER”, age 64 of Bunnell, passed away at home on Sunday, September 13, 2020 surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Rooster was born in Deland, FL on 6/5/1956 to the late Hiriam and Louise Durrance. He was a native of Bunnell, FL. In his younger years he was a bull rider, saddle bronc rider, team roper and a cowboy, he loved hunting and fishing but hog hunting with hounds was his passion, he loved horses and working cows! He worked many years in the logging industry in Volusia and Flagler Counties, Henry Timber and Lefils Logging just to name a few, he was also a heavy equipment operator for many years up until he retired.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to all! Rooster is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife Sherry Durrance, children, Jessica (Chris) Westbrook, Jr (Erin) Durrance, Katie (Travis) Lang, and Chuck (Holly) Durrance. 3 stepchildren Brandon, Logan Hamm and Ryan Schuyler 9 grandchildren Sterling, Levi & Laci Westbrook, Gage and Lauren Durrance, Monroe and Truman Lang, Julianna and Aubrey Durrance. 1 step-granddaughter Allie Hamm. A sister Connie Crain, brother Steven a/k/a Rabbit (Gail) Durrance. And 3 kids that he loved as his own, Patrick, Brian and Ashely Henderson.
Preceding him in death were his parents Hiriam and Louise Durrance, brother Dan Durrance and his uncle who was like a father to him Edward Dreggors. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service.
We will be having a celebration of life on Saturday October 3, 2020 at the Pellicer Community Center at 3:00 PM.
