Karen Perry's Obituary
Karen Perry, 81, of Middletown, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born on May 14, 1943, and grew up in Middletown, where she developed a lifelong passion for learning and caring for others.
A dedicated and highly accomplished nurse practitioner, Karen served the Colchester community through her work at Colchester Family Practice for more than 20 years. She continued her clinical work with REM Connecticut, devoting 13 years caring for patients in their residential communities. Known for both her clinical expertise and compassionate care, she made a lasting impact on countless patients throughout her career. Karen was a believer in the power of education and she obtained four degrees, including a BA from Holy Apostles College & Seminary in Cromwell, an RN from the Wilcox School of Nursing where she was first in her class, a BSN from Central Connecticut State University and finally, she obtained a Master’s Degree from Wesleyan University.
Beyond her impressive career and educational accomplishments, Karen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas, her three children, Amy, Matthew, and Zachary, and four grandchildren, Kristin and Eli Hair, and Thomas and Charles Perry.
