Kathleen M Bashaw's Obituary
Kathleen (Kathy) M. Bashaw, 76, passed away suddenly, April 15, 2024 in Palm Coast, FL. She was born in Paterson, NJ to Joseph and K. Jeanne Leonard. She grew up in Wayne, NJ and graduated from Wayne High School in 1965 and went on to then meet and marry her beloved husband of 32 years, Ronald in 1969. They relocated to Palm Coast in 1979 and had lived there since. She touched so many different lives while involved in Girl Scouts (for multiple generations) in New Jersey then again in Palm Coast as a leader for her daughter’s troop and then again as support for her granddaughters troops. Kathy worked at Wadsworth Elementary School in a number of capacities. She started as a para for the EH students then with the 4th graders. Her final area was as a computer proctor. During her years there, she did extended day and reading tutor. Kathy loved her family and helped raise her granddaughters. Through the last few years, she volunteered with The Flagler Playhouse with her friend Laura. She was known to be approachable, strong, sometimes stubborn, and faithful. She loved to bake and go camping throughout her life. Many considered her as a second Mom or Grandma, friend, sister.
She was predeceased by her husband; Ronald (Ron) Bashaw, her father Joseph Leonard, her mother K. Jeanne Leonard and brother Joseph Leonard, Jr.
She is survived by son Ronald (Ron) Bashaw, Jr and Daughter Christine Brinker. Grandsons, Steven, Jon, Granddaughters, Stephanie, Kristin and Madeline. Great grandkids; Luke and Clara,
Brothers: John K, Robert, Mark, Michael, Paul and Mathew; Sisters, Mary Beth, Nancy, Maureen and Laura and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N. Central Ave, Flagler Beach, FL 32136 on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11 am with reception to follow at church hall.
In lieu of or in addition to flowers, donations can be made in-memoriam to the Flagler Education Foundation.
