Kevin Howard Murphy's Obituary
Kevin Howard “Murph” Murphy, Age 67, entered into eternal rest at his home in Palm Coast, Fl on July 25, 2023. Murph was born in New Brunswick,NJ to the late Kenneth P. Murphy and the late Doris A. Murphy (Née VanWoeart).
Murph was raised in the Rutgers Village section of New Brunswick with his five siblings. The late Richard B. Murphy of Somerset, NJ, the late Kenneth P. Murphy II (Irene-deceased), of Pooler, GA and the late Dori A. Boyce (Née Murphy) of Old Bridge, NJ. He is survived by his two sisters, Kathy Murphy of Ormond Beach, Fl. (and her recently deceased partner, Aprile Mondelo), Patricia Ambrosio and her husband Patrick of North Brunswick, N.J., and Pat and Jack Wright of Spring Lake Heights, NJ. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Kevin was a graduate of New Brunswick High School. He then served his country in the Navy for three years of active duty and two years of reserves.
Murph was retired from the Ford Motor Company in Edison, N.J. Murph was also the proprietor of Murphy’s Spirit Shop a wonderful neighborhood liquor store in the Colonia section of Woodbridge N.J. Most recently Murph was the unofficial mayor of the “L” section of Palm Coast Fla. where he held nightly “meetings” in his garage. His Palm Coast neighbors and friends became like family to him. They were a great support system for our Murph. We pray that the Coors Light Brewery does not suffer too greatly due to the loss of one of their most loyal customers!
Our beloved Murph was a friend to all. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his Crowley’s Tavern family. We will all reminisce about his “shenanigans” at Murph’s Bar in Jackson Corners, NY . But most of all Big Murph, Uncle Kevin, will be missed by his sisters and all his nieces and nephews.
Kevin was a faithful communicant at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Saint Augustine, Fl. He was devoted to our Lady and the Rosary.
Kevin will be cremated by Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service in Bunnell, Fl. Friends and family can offer condolences and support on their website. A mass of Christian burial will be scheduled in N.J. at a later date. Interment will be at Holy Cross Burial Park in Jamesburg, NJ which is also to be announced.
