Laurie Ann Marlow's Obituary
Laurie (Oldenburg) Marlow was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on June 28, 1959 and was raised in Ludlow, Massachusetts. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving husband and family members on June 5, 2024 at Advent Health Hospice in Palm Coast, Florida after a courageous battle with lung, breast and bone cancer. Laurie worked many years in the service industry and was loved by so many people. Laurie lovingly dedicated her time to caring for senior and sick animals by providing them a loving home and care as they transitioned over the rainbow bridge. Laurie successfully overcame her addiction and was instrumental in providing support and guidance to so many friends involved in A.A.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 24 years, John L. Marlow as well as four children- Thomas Rourke Jr (Jennifer) of Rhode Island, Timothy Alfano of Florida, Joseph Alfano of Vermont and Samantha Peabody (Steven) of Massachusetts. Her three step- children, Billy Marlow of Michigan, Cory Marlow of Florida and Taylor Marlow (his fiancée Jamie Reis) also of Florida. Laurie had 7 grandchildren that she adored, Valentino, Farris, Julian, Jameson, Grayson, Jack and Raya. Laurie leaves behind her siblings, Donna McKay (Philip) of Westfield, MA, Paula Oldenburg of Surf City, North Carolina and her sister-in-law Ann Marie Oldenburg of St. Augustine, Florida and many nieces and nephews. She will be terribly missed by her four furbabies, Kobe, Minnie, Mia and Harvey. She was predeceased by her parents Suzan Walker in 2016 and Frederick J. Oldenburg, Jr in 2010 and her brother Russell Oldenburg in 2023. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 7, at 11 o’clock at St. John’s Community Center.
