Leona Stoner Cornelius' Obituary
Leona Stoner Cornelius, 90, peacefully went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2025, at home in Palm Coast, Florida. While Leona lived here on earth, she was a loving, generous, and thoughtful person. Always giving of herself. She was also a competitive Tupperware saleswoman, and managed a team called "Lee's Leaders." Leona had a fun, adventurous spirit, and was always willing to get into a little trouble if it meant "making a memory" with someone she loved. If you ever had to leave her a voicemail, you will most likely remember the first line of her message, "Hello, you wonderful person." Leona ordered dessert first because she was afraid she wouldn't have room for it after dinner. She was known as "Sis" to her brothers, and "Aunt Sissy" or "Aunt Lee" to her nieces and nephews.
She was a caring mother and a beloved grandmother. She loved Jesus with all her heart, and always pointed the people around her in His direction. She was a great example of a Godly woman to her family and friends and she will be dearly missed.
Leona was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Thomas Edward Cornelius, the third. She was also preceded in death by her mother Elva Virl Evans Stoner and her father, Robert Stoner, her brothers, Charles Stoner, Robert Stoner, and Lawrence Stoner, her adopted sister, Marjorie Jellison, her niece Linda Stoner Foster, and her sisters-in-law, Rosemary Stoner and Gaylene Stoner.
Leona is survived by her children, Constance Cornelius, Richard Cornelius, and Amy Cornelius Draganjac (husband Bruce Draganjac), her grandchildren, Amanda Buckles Van Hook (husband Nathan Van Hook), Alicia Buckles Melgoza (husband Luis Melgoza), Erin McClellan-Barger (wife, Vicki McClellan-Barger), Jared McClellan, Emily McClellan, Anne Sayre (husband Homer Sayre), and Josef Draganjac (wife Tiffany Draganjac) her great-grandchildren, Anthony, Leighton, Fiona, Juliette, Vivian, Ty, Dru, Ben, Ava, and Mya. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Stoner, and her numerous and loved, nieces and nephews, Marc, Gail, Roxanne, Laurie, Valerie, Kimberly, Larry, Monty, Curt, Claudia, Cindy, and Cathy. She loved many and was loved by many.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th at 11 am at the Coraopolis Cemetery, 1121 Main St, Coraopolis, PA 15108. Reception following, location to be announced at the service.
