Leroy H Meyer's Obituary
Leroy H. Meyer, 84, passed away on August 12, 2022 in Palm Coast, Florida. He was born in 1937 in Colwich, Kansas and spent the majority of his life in Wichita and Derby, Kansas. He was a veteran of more than 29 years active and Guard service including serving in the Korean war. After active duty he was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita where he retired in 1982 with the rank of Major. He was nominated by the Kansas National Guard for the 1990 President’s Volunteer Action Award for his efforts for his community. He was active in the United Way, the Kansas Lions Club, of which he served as President and served on the Board of Directors of the National Guard Association of Kansas.
He was preceded in death by wife Joy, sisters Virginia Keiter, and Juanita Layton; parents Joe and Catherine Meyer.
Leroy is survived by step-daughter Robin Faber and granddaughter Jade Faber; nieces Renee Keiter, Jude Layton and nephew Michael Layton.
