Lev Moishevich Rabinovich's Obituary
Lev Moishevich Rabinovich, 82, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on March 22, 2026. A mechanical engineer by training and a devoted husband and father, Lev lived a life defined by resilience, hard work, and deep commitment to his family.
He was born on November 7, 1943, in Kazakhstan, during his family's evacuation from Kyiv, Ukraine, at the height of WWII. After the war, he was raised in Kyiv, Ukraine. He attended a polytechnical institute in Kyiv, where he studied engineering, and later served for several years in the Soviet military.
In 1979, Lev escaped from the Soviet Union with his wife, Larisa, and their two children, Tamara and Arthur. After spending time in several European countries, including Austria and Italy, the family arrived in the United States on July 2, 1979, settling in Erie, Pennsylvania. There, Lev built a new life from the ground up. He worked at Organ Supplies Industries, designing and making 50-foot-tall music organs, and later pursued entrepreneurship, owning several businesses, including a donut and pastry shop.
Lev was a strong and devoted family man, known for his generosity toward friends and his quiet strength. He remained deeply connected to his Jewish roots and heritage. In his free time, he found joy in gardening and took great pride in caring for his home and outdoor pool—simple pleasures that reflected his appreciation for family, stability, and the life he built.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose steady presence and unwavering support shaped the lives of those around him. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Milla and Misha.
Lev is survived by his beloved wife, Larisa, of Palm Coast, Florida; his daughter, Tamara, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; and his son, Arthur, of Rockville, Maryland.
