Lisa M. Rice's Obituary
Lisa M. Rice, 52, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home December 2, 2023 surrounded by her 3 children, her younger brother and the help of her best friend. She was born on February 16, 1971 to Leo and Alice (Bailey) Blair in Winamac, IN.
Lisa will forever be remembered as strong and independent. She loved going to the beach and was hard working. She was kind and gave from her heart. When she loved you, she loved with her whole heart. Once you became part of her family, that was it. Lisa loved her biological and step children all the same- treating all of them as if they were her own. Most of all, she absolutely cherished being "Memaw" to her grandkids.
Lisa is survived by her siblings; Tom Castle, Donnie Castle, John Castle, Lora Shadley, Doris Kast, and Wayne Blair; her children Ashley (Daniel) Renyard, Alexis (Garrett Birchfield) Bennett, Andrew Bennett, Spencer (Jessica) Rice, Travis Rice, Jacob Combs, and Katie Mock; as well as 9 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents Leo and Alice Blair; her siblings Carol Wynegar, Angel Blair, and Mark Castle; as well as her granddaughter Raylynn.
Lisa may have not been the star in every room she walked in, but her heart, soul, and kindness made up of for it. She appreciated the even smallest acts of thoughtfulness. Everything, big or small, really meant something to her.
Lisa always believed God is in control. No matter the circumstance, God was by her side. She always said we may not understand his plans or reasonings, but he is our rock. A particular comfort was found in Revelations 14:13- And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”
In lieu of flowers, our family encourages you to donate to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity of yours in Lisa's honor! Heritage Funeral and Cremation of Bunnell, FL is assisting the family with arrangements. www.HeritageFlagler.com
