Louise J. Faulkner's Obituary
We announce that our beloved mother Louise Josephine Faulkner, (born Louise B. Crossman) entered into God’s Kingdom on February 14, 2022 after a sudden illness overcame her. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family in the hospital in Palm Coast, Florida. Louise was born to Silas “Roy” and Irene Crossman on August 23rd, 1945 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York.
When Louise was younger, her favorite activities were reading, drawing, painting, and caring for her pets. Later in life she married and had children and was very socially active in her community and went on to own her own pet grooming business before pursuing her passion for writing. Louise was a self-taught artist and author whose passion for writing and illustrating children’s books began in early childhood.
Raised in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of New York, she soon developed a love of animals and nature. They are common themes throughout her works. Her childhood was a difficult time; understandably she became dedicated to the happiness of children. Each of her books became a keepsake with memories of a time in life that all too quickly passes.
Having written under the pen name; L. Josephine Faulkner, being a distant relative of William Faulkner, she settled in a small town in Central Florida. Her works include Saltwater Marsh Chronicles, The Secret of Richard Rats Will, Amanda Rose Muffins, Glory Anna and the Horsefly, A kiss from Grandma, and Thomas-The Littlest Angel.
She is survived by three grown children; Seán Milroy and Athena Alexander (both of Deltona, FL.) and Rachel Mason (of Toowoomba, QLD, Australia) and by two grandchildren; Keely Milroy (of Lyman, WY) and Gabriel Glendenning (of Toowoomba, QLD, Australia); and by her sister June Faulkner Crossman-Battisti (of Catskill, NY); and by many nieces, nephews and step children whom she loved.
Louise joins her daughter Amanda; her sisters Marion Card-Bradley, Josephine Biggar, Edith Crossman, Irene Boyd, Virginia Relyea, Johanna Lundius; and her brothers; Bruce, Roy, John, Robert, Paul, and Eric Crossman; and her parents, Silas “Roy” and Irene Crossman in God’s Kingdom.
In accordance with her wishes, a private memorial will be held for family and her ashes are to be
scattered over the ocean in Florida and Australia at a future date.
