In Loving Memory of Luzviminda Duque Bonamy
Luzviminda Duque Bonamy, age 73, of Palm Coast, Florida, entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2026. Born on February 8, 1953, in San Antonio, Zambales, Philippines, Luz was the beloved daughter of Felix Duque and Beatriz Anadase Duque. Throughout her life, she was guided by a deep Catholic faith and devotion to her family, community, and the teachings of the Church. In 1978, Luz left the Philippines and moved to Miami, Florida, to begin her nursing career at Jackson Manor Nursing Home, where she met her husband, Ted. She later worked at Mercy Hospital in Coconut Grove, where she gave birth to her first child, Austin, before accepting a full-time position at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she dedicated 29 years of service in the Newborn Nursery and Labor and Delivery Units. She found great fulfillment in caring for mothers and welcoming countless newborns. Through her hands and compassionate care, she helped bring generations of new life into the world. Luz was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to helping others. She found great joy in gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family, and she touched the lives of many through her warmth, generosity, and faith. Luz is survived by her children, Austin (Marie) and Carnie (Phillip); her beloved grandchildren, Rion, Joshua, Angelique, Phillip, Candace, and Zephaniah; her sister Merlyn; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Beatriz, her husband Ted, and her siblings Marina, Felimor, Isidro, Encarnacion, Alberto, Rolando, Silvestre, and Anita. A Visitation will be held on March 21, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass (Mass of Christian Burial) will be celebrated immediately following at 1:00 PM. The family kindly asks for prayers for the repose of her soul. "Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. "Her legacy of faith, family, and service will live on through those she loved.
