Margaret Williams' Obituary
Margaret Williams, beloved wife of Robert Williams, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2017.
Margaret was also known as Peg, Peggy, Sis, Mom. Different names by different people, all for the same wonderful and much loved person.
Peg was born and raised in NY, where she met her husband, Bob, and where they lived for many years enjoying a happy life together with wonderful friends and family nearby. Peg worked for and retired from the telephone company.
Peg and Bob traveled around the world before retiring to FL, and Peg eagerly embraced the life of volunteering, especially in her church, the local animal shelter, and hospital. She had a deep love for animals, always having a dog in her life, and enjoyed spreading cheer by taking puppies to visit residents in rest homes. Peg had a gift of seeing humor in situations and saying just the right words to encourage and cheer the people she encountered. She volunteered in the hospital with the Hospital Auxiliary for approximately 25 years and over 8,000 hours. Her family wishes to thank all the special people who encouraged her to continue in her volunteer service. She was loved and felt needed, as is so important in life.
The last few years she resided at Las Palmas, making new friends who brightened her life, as she brightened the lives of those who knew her there. She looked forward to dining each day with the ladies at her table. The family thanks all the many people at Las Palmas who were so helpful and caring during the time she lived there.
Even having several health concerns, Peg persevered in life. People might say she lived a quiet life, but her friends and family saw a lively, entertaining, and extremely generous and loving person. Her life may have been perceived as quiet, but it was by no means small or insignificant. She blessed many people in many ways. God gave Peg’s life meaning and worth.
Peg trusted Jesus as her Savior and Lord and looked forward to being with Him in Heaven. Look to Jesus, believe in Him, and be saved, and receive eternal life in Heaven with Him.
Peg was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brother. She is survived by son Bob and his wife Jennie, and her cherished cousin Laura Heyer and her family. Peg also leaves special and dearly loved friends Reet McGonegal and Claire Galles.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Drive, Palm Coast, FL 32137.
Arrangements are under the care of Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service.
