Maria Spataro's Obituary
Maria Spataro, age 73, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her family on August 3, 2025, in Palm Coast, Florida. Maria was born on October 8, 1951, in Batya, Hungary to her loving parents, the late Erno J.K. Csihas and Julianna Farkas. Maria was a beacon of love and compassion, touching the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted and loving daughter to her mother, Julianna; a cherished sister to Lucilia Csihas; and a doting aunt to her niece and nephew, Christine and Michael Hurley. She will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, Wesley Spataro, with whom she shared many precious moments. After completing her education, Maria embarked on a career as a data entry specialist for a large construction firm in Philadelphia. She also often assisted in her late husband's family business, the renowned Spataro’s Cheesesteaks in Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market. However, Maria found her true calling as a home health care nurse, where her gift of caring and compassion shone through. Her patients were deeply touched by her kind demeanor and spirited enthusiasm. Maria's passions extended beyond her career. She had a deep love for music, particularly from the 60's, 70's, and 80's, and would often be found fishing with her father, a hobby they both cherished. She enjoyed watching movies, reading, and needlework, and had a profound love for animals. Maria's vivacious and fun-loving spirit was infectious, and she lived life with an open heart, always ready to share her love and compassion with those around her. Maria's life was a testament to her faith. She loved the Lord and honored Him beautifully with her life. Her accomplishments were not marked by awards or accolades, but by the countless lives she touched with her sweet and compassionate nature. A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 8:30am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL. 32129. A gathering will follow in the church hall. Maria's passing leaves a void that will never be filled. Her sweet spirit, her love for life, and her compassion for others will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life, and the love, joy, and kindness she brought into this world. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Erno J.K. Csihas, and her beloved husband, Wesley Spataro. Maria's legacy of love and compassion will be carried on by her surviving family, her mother Julianna Farkas, sister Lucilia Csihas, and her niece and nephew, Christine and Michael Hurley. Rest in peace, sweet Maria. Your love and light will forever shine in our hearts.
