Marion Zaksewicz's Obituary
Marianna “Marion” (Beccia) Zaksewicz, 95, of Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at Bailey’s Hospice in Saint Augustine, Florida early Monday morning, May 3, 2021. She was the widow of the late Stanley M. Zaksewicz Sr.
Marianna was born in Waterbury, CT on January 2, 1926, daughter of the late, Nicola Beccia and Giuseppina (Iorio) Beccia. Marianna attended Waterbury schools. She worked at Benrus Watch as a timekeeper, Drigg’s School as a secretary and Waterbury Convalescent home as a nurse’s aide. She was well loved not only by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but also by her nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marianna leaves behind her four children: Stanley M. Zaksewicz Jr and his wife, Elayne of Cape Cod, MA; Stephen Zaksewicz and Diane Meyerholz of Palm Coast, FL; Joanne Fairchild and her husband, Glenn of Palm Coast, FL and Maryann Zaksewicz and Mark Nelson of Johnston, RI. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren: Anthony Zaksewicz and his wife, Tanya, Amanda Dossey and her husband, Matthew, Michael Zaksewicz, Stephen W. Zaksewicz, Sarah Fairchild, and her seven great grandchildren: Isaiah Estrada, Ezra, Mathias and Hezekiah Zaksewicz, Katherine, Alexander and Emeline Dossey. Marianna is survived by her brother Jerry Beccia and her sister Anne Porcaro. She was predeceased by her sister, Philomena Buonocore and her two brothers, Johnny and Michael Beccia and her grandson Anthony Thomas Nelson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements: Church funeral June 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, CT
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury, CT following Mass.
