Mark Sherman Palmer's Obituary
Mark Sherman Palmer, born on July 11, 1953, in Tarboro, NC, passed away on December 3, 2025, at the age of 72 in Palm Coast, FL. Known affectionately as Sherman, he led a life marked by dedication to both his family and his career in construction.
Sherman graduated from Tarboro High School and later attended East Carolina University (ECU). His professional life was largely spent in the construction industry, where he excelled in roles such as superintendent for ITT and Palm Coast Construction. Notably, he devoted three years to rebuilding efforts in St. Croix following Hurricane Hugo, demonstrating his commitment to helping communities in crisis.
Beyond his career, Sherman was a passionate outdoorsman. He loved fishing and motorcycle rides, often spending his free time on the open road or by the water. His hobbies provided him not just with relaxation but also with cherished memories with friends and family.
Sherman was a devout member of Hammock First Baptist Church in Palm Coast, FL, where he found a strong community of faith. His religious commitments were an integral part of his life, offering him both comfort and fellowship.
He is survived by a loving family, including his stepson Roman Christopher and daughter-in-law Alexa Morgan of Englewood, FL; granddaughters Summer Bratcher and Guilio Pronesti of Orlando, FL, and Miranda and Devyn Nycum of Rulo, NE; grandson Michael Christopher of Bullhead City, AZ; and great-granddaughters Ravyn and Adalyn Nycum of Rulo, NE. Sherman also leaves behind his sisters Rosalind Largo of Wilmington, NC, and Norma Brady of Pinetops, NC, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sherman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Christopher-Palmer, his parents, Mark Bev Palmer and Margaret Laski, step father Charles Laski, son Mark Palmer Jr., and his brothers, Dennis and Donald Palmer.
Services to celebrate Sherman's life will be held at Hammock First Baptist Church in Palm Coast, FL. The visitation will commence at 10 AM followed by the service at 11 AM. The church will provide lunch following the service.
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Services in Bunnell, FL, is assisting the family during this time. Sherman's life was a testament to his robust spirit and loving heart, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
