Mary F. Daughtry's Obituary
Mary Francis Daughtry passed away peacefully in Palm Coast, FL on August 6, 2018 under the loving care of the staff and hospice nurse services at the Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mary was born in Havelock, NC, the eldest of 12 children born to parents Martha Ann Williams (deceased) and Louis Williams (deceased). She remained in NC until she met and married her husband of 42 years, Roy Daughtry, and relocated to New York City. Mary was an avid reader and believer of the Word of God. She was ordained an Evangelist and Prophetess and served in that capacity at Holy Bethel Temple and Believers Gateway to Freedom in Brooklyn, NY. Mary also served as an Assistant Pastor under her husband Rev. Roy Daughtry at Rightway Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn, NY.
Mary remained at home to raise 9 children in Brooklyn NY. She enjoyed completing word puzzles, watching the Food Network, and binge watching episodes of Criminal Minds and the First 48 Hours. Old western movies were her favorite and many were delighted by her angelic voice when she would sing hymns and spirituals to the Father. In 2005, Mary relocated to Florida to reside with her son, Everett Daughtry and his family. Mary continued her walk with Christ and was a spiritual guide to numerous family members, friends and loved ones.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Martha Ann and Louis, her two brothers Grifferson Williams and Louis Williams Jr, and her three sisters Annie Louise Williams, Gloria White, and Karen Francine Williams.
Mary is survived by two brothers Royal Williams (Sheila) and Don Williams (Monica), and her four sisters Gwendolyn Bennett (Marvin), Angela Porter (Michael), Lillian Jakewell (Andre) and Myrna Wiley (Dion). Mary is also survived by her ex-husband, Roy Daughtry and all 9 of their children: Everett Daughtry (Barbara), Warren Daughtry, Stephanie Rivers (Shaun), Myra Bonet (Hector), Andrea Pettway (Irvin), Andre Daughtry (Rose), Yvette Dimmons, Kimberly Adams (Ryan) and Joseph Daughtry (Dawnali), 36 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren (Josiah, predeceased), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
The Memorial Service is schedule for 10 am on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at the African American Cultural Center in Palm Coast, FL. It will be followed by a repast at Golden Corral in Palm Coast for all who would like to attend.
