Michael T Bolger's Obituary
On Tuesday, November 9, 2021 Michael Thomas Bolger, loving husband and father of five, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loved ones.
Mike was born on March 9, 1951 in the District of Columbia to Russell and Marjorie Bolger. Mike attended St Johns College High School in Washington, DC. He received his degree from Xavier University in Ohio, where he was a standout pitcher on the baseball team. He had quite the curveball! He enjoyed a long and successful career with the United States Postal Service primarily as a Postal Inspector. On February 14, 1976 he married Linda and together they raised three daughters and two sons.
He was first and foremost a family man. Mike also had a deep passion for sports. He was an avid golfer, athlete and sports fan. He combined these passions as he would caddy for, cheer on, and play sports with his children and grandchildren at every opportunity. He was known for putting others before himself which is evident in some of his many nicknames: Mike, Mikey, Dad, Mr. Mike & Pops. Known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He loved traveling to support the alumni at St Johns and Xavier, cheer on Ole Miss Rebels, and golf trips to Tavistock, Pinehurst, Cimarrone, and Medford Village.
Michael is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Meghan Stasi and husband Danny, son Russell Bolger and wife Joanna, their children Abbee and Logan, daughter Tracy Piper and husband Bill, their children Lucy, Maggie, Emma, & Katie, son William Bolger, and daughter Tara Stanwich and husband Fred, Tara’s daughter Ella, brother Jack and his wife Marie. There are many that can attest to his love and selflessness including Sally Newkirk, Val Lagana, Johnny Seferxhane, Ryan Kling, Will Melendez & Carlos Olivero.
Please join us in celebrating Mike by bringing a story-we all know there are some great ones!
