Michael "Mike" Budgen's Obituary
Michael "Mike" Budgen passed away November 15, 2024, at the age of 66. He was a native and resident of Bunnell, Florida. He enjoyed his retirement by going to the Fish Camp, visiting with his friends and sharing stories of all his adventures, travels, fast cars, good food and "fishing stories"... Mike liked to tell good stories, you know! He lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with his family, friends, and loved ones.
Mike, the eldest of his siblings, was born on March 10, 1958, to Shirley Ann Clifton and Edward Budgen of Daytona Beach, FL. Mike Spent his early years being a truck driver and working construction.
He spent many years in Alaska working on the "Slope" as a finish grade dozier operator (along with other Alaska sized heavy equipment). He was renowned for his expertise on a Dozier. He made a good life in Alaska and made many friends who tagged him as "Budgen" and "The Storyteller".
Mike lived his life the best he knew and left this earth wishing that his 2 daughters would find safety in this mixed-up world. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. In Mike's final thoughts he shared his love for BOTH of his girls and grandson.
He is survived by his daughters, Amanda Budgen (Chris) of Holly Hill, FL, and Dana Benton (Tyler); grandson, James of Starke FL; his brother, Jason Cauley; his sister, Jerrilynn Cauley and nephew, Justin DeLoach; Uncle Billy Cauley, all from Bunnell, FL, Uncle George Clifton of Oakhill, FL and many cousins & friends stretching from Florida to Alaska.
Preceded in death by his parents Shirley Clifton-Cauley and Jerry W. Cauley; his father, Edward Budgen and brother, Wayne Cauley.
Although Mike is gone, he will live on in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life will be on January 18th at 2pm at the Pellicer Community Center in Bunnell, FL
