Myrtle Nadine Malycky's Obituary
Nadine Malycky, 92, of Palm Coast, FL passed away peacefully at home under hospice care surrounded by her loving family on December 28, 2022. She was born in on July 12, 1930 in Rocksprings, TX to Lorenzas T. and Vanie P. (nee Crawford) Routh.
Nadine grew up in Uvalde and Del Rio on the Texas, Mexico Border. Her family were Texans through and through. Her grandfather drilled water wells that brought water to Del Rio and other nearby towns. She was distinctively a “Texas Gal”. A little bit Southern Belle and a little feisty, when appropriate. Nadine loved to sing and dance and as a child she would often entertain her parents' friends.
She married young to Hobert Cole Simmons in 1946 and gave birth to her only son Travis in 1947; her first daughter, Joline was born in 1949. In 1952, she married Walter Peter Malycky and had three more daughters, Frances in 1954, Nona Carol in 1959, and finally Toni Kay in 1962. Nadine enjoyed sewing for her children and made custom shirts for Walter who wore those shirts often and with pride.
After raising her children she began a career as a CNA embracing her love for the elderly. She often said, “Everyone loves a baby, but the elderly are often forgotten”.
Nadine was an affectionate and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and friend. You could say, she never met a stranger.
Nadine is survived by her son Travis and her two daughters Nona and Toni. Nadine has 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Nadine was preceded in death by her two daughters Frances and Joline. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her.
