Nancy Dickinson Brundage's Obituary
Nancy Dickinson Brundage passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025 at the age of 92, the day after what would have been her 70th wedding anniversary. Nancy was born on March 12,1933 in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Violet “Faye” Nichols and Carl Wesley Dickinson. She graduated from Mount Lebanon High School in 1952 and then enrolled at the University of Miami. An active member of Alpha Delta Pi, she was at a sorority social when she met Daniel Millard Brundage of Coral Gables, Florida. Nancy returned home and worked in procurement for Schaffers Dress Store until 1955. That year she married Dan, her husband of 58 years, and then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he began his career in sales with IBM. Nancy was a busy wife and mother for the next two decades. IBM moved the family frequently and Nancy found herself in: Macon, Georgia, Princeton, New Jersey, Fairfax, Virginia, and Dayton, Ohio, twice(!) during those 20 years. Nancy’s beautiful smile and contagious penchant for fun mixed with a healthy dose of mischief made her a hit wherever she lived. With each move she effortlessly created a warm and loving home full of smiles and laughter. IBM’s final relocation took the family to Coral Gables, Florida in 1975 and it was here that Nancy indulged her love of people and entertaining by working as a hostess for both Earnest & Dale Salon and Welcome Wagon. Nancy and Dan vacationed frequently in the mountains of North Carolina. Maggie Valley was a favorite destination and every year they brought friends and family along with them to share what she always felt was a little “Bit of Heaven”. Following Dan’s retirement from IBM in 1986 Nancy took up golf and joined Dan in the 10th Holers Group at Coral Gables County Club. In 1993 they relocated to Ormond Beach. She enjoyed volunteering with the church and cooking for a crowd. Her home was as beautiful inside, because she loved to decorate, as it was outside, because of her skills in the garden. She loved fishing, and being a life-long fan of the Pittsburgh Hornets/Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers however will be most remembered as a loving and giving wife, mother, and friend. Her smile, wit and warm personality will be missed by all who knew her. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, Carl Wesley Dickinson. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Linda Ash (Leonard) of Mount Dora, Florida and two sons Dan Brundage (Katherine) of Carmel, Indiana and Jamie Brundage of Port Orange, Florida. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Caroline and Jack Brundage of Carmel, Indiana, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 17, 2025 at Saint James Episcopal Church in Ormond Beach with a 3:00 PM reception at Halifax Plantation Golf Club.
