Nancy Jane Epstein's Obituary
With a broken heart we regretfully announce the passing of Nancy Jane Epstein of Palm Coast, Florida. Nancy passed away April 10, 2022 after a brief illness.
Nancy was born and raised in Queens, NY and was adopted at birth by Helen and St Clair Hertel . She was an independent and vibrant personality from the beginning. She was bright, animated with a smile you could never forget, and making friends wherever she went. Nancy attended public school and graduated high school in Flushing New York.
After graduating she worked in Manhattan, and went on to be employed by Harrah’s Entertainment from 1981-2006. She quickly rose from the ranks to become Advertising Director. Everyone who worked with Nancy experienced a loving mentor, a strong, smart resourceful and fun loving woman they could call a friend for life.
Shortly after beginning her career, Nancy met and married the love of her life Carol V. Epstein Jr. (Carlito). During their forty years of marriage Nancy and Carol spent most of their marriage working, socializing, traveling and enjoying everything life had to offer them. Nancy never met a stranger, making friends everywhere they went.
Nancy retired after 25 years at Harrah’s Entertainment. After retirement they relocated from Chicago to Palm Coast, Florida; where they built their dream home in 2006, they enjoyed every day in their beautiful home, or on the lani with their dear cat Callie. They loved leisure walks on the beach and gazing at the Ocean and being with the many friends they grew to love and call family. Nancy loved people and they loved her. She was an active member of the FBYC, and a member of a Women’s Book Club.
Nancy is survived by her husband Carol Epstein and her God-daughter Melinda Wright, a cousin Daffness Bohas and husband Nick.
A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held May 10, 2022 at the Pine Lakes Country and Golf Club.
