Nellie Juanita Chapman-Davis' Obituary
Ms. Nellie Juanita Chapman Davis, 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, June 2, 2025, in Palm Coast, FL.
Nellie was the oldest of four children, born on September 2, 1946 in Washington, NC, to the late Leroy and Irene Chapman. She lived a fulfilling life, spending time with her children, family, and dog Brooklyn. Nellie had a passion for traveling, especially on cruise lines, and enjoyed hosting and entertaining others. Her love for her church and her willingness to serve were also prominent aspects of her life. Nellie worked for over 14 years with the Department of Defense, before retiring to Palm Coast, FL. Those who knew her best remembered her as a true “country girl”. Regardless of whether life took her to the bustling city of New York or to Inkster, Michigan, her down south roots remained deeply embedded in her heart and spirit.
She leaves behind her son, Anthony (Selena) Chapman of Palm Coast, FL, her daughter Aisha Benton of Palm Coast, FL; four grandsons, Rashaun of Newport News, VA, Devin of Newport Beach, CA, Jaylen of Bronx, NY, Jasiah of Glen Burnie, MD; two great-grandchildren, Amelia & Ryleigh of Newport News, VA; one sister Mary (Jerome) Griffin of Washington, NC, and one brother Gary (Linda) Chapman of Washington, NC; and a host of beloved family and friends
