Philip Wright Lohman's Obituary
After a short illness, Philip W. Lohman of Ormond Beach, FL passed away at home on March
27, 2024 with his loving wife, Agnes, by his side. He was born on February 21, 1930 in
Courtland, NY to Philip and Mable (Wright) Lohman. He graduated from Cortland High School
where he served as president of the Student Council and played varsity basketball and baseball
and attended New York Boys State. Phil graduated from Michigan State University and served
as an officer in the U.S. Army. He worked for the U.S. Electrical Motors Div. of Emerson
Electric Co. where he began as a field sales engineer and progressed to being in charge of
Marketing and finally Marketing/Sales worldwide. After leaving Emerson Electric he was Vice
President of Sales for an aircraft test equipment company in North Haven, CT. Before retiring to
Florida in 1987 he had lived in Texas, the Panama Canal Zone, Louisiana and finally, Orange,
Connecticut. While in Orange, he was chairman of the stewardship board and a trustee of the
Orange Congregational Church. Phil loved all sports, especially the New York Yankees and (win
or lose) the New York Giants. Another favorite was thoroughbred horse racing and we are happy
to have attended races at many of the major tracks across the U.S. He was an adult- long golfer
and played Senior Softball and golf during retirement in Florida.
