Randall L Williams' Obituary
Daytona Beach — On Monday, June 13, 2022, Randall Lee Williams, loving husband, son, brother, and uncle - formally from Round Lake Park, IL and Mt. Prospect, IL passed away at the age of 62 near his retirement home in Daytona Beach, Florida. Randy was a Spiritual Being and lived his life to the Fullest!
Randy was born on December 24, 1959, in Oak Park, IL to Richard and Kristin (Olson) Williams. He was the second of their three children.
Randy married “the love of his life” Cathy (Romanowski) on May 19, 1989.
Randy was a 1978 graduate of Prospect High School in Mt. Prospect, IL. He received a Certified Baker, Science of Baking Technology Designation from The American Institute of Baking in Manhattan KS. He also studied Jewelry Repair and Engraving at Gem City College in Quincy, IL. Randy worked for 30 years for the J.W. Allen Company (later Rich Products) of Wheeling, IL. He principally worked in their lab performing quality control testing.
As a teenager, Randy visited Ireland and travelled with his wife Cathy to various destinations including Paris, London, Key West, New York, and Caribbean and Hawaiian Cruises. He loved Las Vegas and went numerous times with friends and brother Bob. He took many trips to Hayward, Wisconsin with his family for fishing and summer fun. Randy was a motorcycle enthusiast. He owned several bikes from Harley Davidson, and the most recent from Indian, which was a prized possession. Several cross-country trips were accomplished including to Sturgis, South Dakota. Randy was a Treasure Hunter – always seeking interesting things from antique stores, flea markets, and thrift stores. He was a music lover and spent hours listening to his life-long collection of recordings and videos. Randy was known for his humor, independent spirit, but also his generous heart towards others.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Kristin and his father, Richard. He is survived by his wife Cathy, his brother Robert (Rhonda), sister Betsy (Buterbaugh), nephews Patrick Williams, Alec Buterbaugh, and Matt Kroll, and niece Mary Buterbaugh. He also leaves many cousins and good friends made throughout his life.
A Celebration of Randy’s Life will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lindy’s Landing 115 Park Street., Wauconda, IL. His ashes will be interred at Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary in Cary, IL.
