Raymond Willard's Obituary
Raymond Willard, 90 years old of Palm Coast died March 10, 2024 in Palm Coast at home with his family. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey and was the middle son of John and Jean Willard. Ray had two brothers, John and Donald. Ray married his loving wife Inez Otiepka on September 1, 1962 who passed away in 2017.
Ray was a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years where he retired. He was also an advisor for the local community and the director and co-founder for the “Helping Hands Program”, that was co-sponsored by the local police department. If a child needed help and saw a red hand in the window of a home, they knew that was a safe haven. Ray was also an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a Torch Bearer for the 1996 Olympics and served on the planning Board for United Way. He was a captain of the Port Orange Tennis Team. He loved boating, fishing, golfing and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his two sons Glen and Brian, his two daughter-in-laws Michelle and Kimberly, four grandchildren Cory, Skyanne, Peyton, Blane, and two great grand children, Bentley and Zaine. Ray will be buried at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida with his wife Inez.
