Rebecca L Coleman's Obituary
Rebecca L Coleman passed away on August 21, 2022 in Palm Coast, Florida. She liked music and dogs and being a wife and a mother of three. It’s unimaginably difficult to sum up a life like hers in short, but as a child she beat the man she’d one day marry with a purse full of rocks, ran away to Mississippi because she felt like it, got arrested for reasons she never told her kids, got pretty far on her hike of the Appalachian Trail before a murder shut it down, worked as a surgeon for rats, and lied about being able to play the guitar until she got called out one day and then went on to instill the importance of honesty in her offspring. When she wasn’t busy exploring the colors of the world, she loved to try new food, both eating and cooking, and watching Hocus Pocus or reruns of Gunsmoke. Her favorite book was To Kill a Mockingbird, and she exemplified the same fearless kindness and acceptance. During the time we had with her, she was an endless fountain of support, love, understanding, and unapologetic exuberance for life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Lancaster, Don Brown, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her husband Mark Coleman, her mother Lois Lancaster, her brother Michael Lancaster, her daughters Misty Blake, Melody Combs, and Moriah Coleman, her sons-in-law Dylan Blake and Brennan Viet, Davy Combs, and four grandchildren.
Fly on, free bird.
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
