Rev. Raymond Howard Rogers
Rev. Raymond Howard Rogers of Flagler Beach, FL was born on September 30, 1932 in Birmingham, AL to the late Jack E. Rogers and Josie Viola Rogers nee Taylor. He went home to be with the lord on August 20, 2013 in Palm Coast, FL at the age of 80 years.
He relocated to Florida from Oklahoma in 2000. Rev. Rogers retired from pastoring the First Church of the Nazarene in San Mateo, FL in 2012. His greatest passion and calling in life was preaching the gospel, but he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boogie boarding.
In addition to his parents, Rev. Rogers was preceded in death by four brothers. Jack Rogers, Charlie Rogers, and Keith Rogers were killed as a result of WWII, and finally Hugh Rogers. He is also preceded in death by his sisters Juanita Roberson and Edna Spencer.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Frances Rogers of 56 years. His four sons Kent Rogers of FL, Allen Rogers of FL, Keith Rogers and wife Grace of KS, and Dale Rogers and wife Billie of FL. He is also leaves behind his sister, Evelyn Belt of SC, eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Port Orange Church of the Nazarene, 840 Taylor Rd., Port Orange, FL 32127. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00 am until time of the service.
All services are under the direction of Heritage Funeral & Cremation Service, Port Orange, FL.
