Richard H Dickens' Obituary
Richard Dickens Ill, age 65, native of St. Augustine, went to be with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on August 14, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1956. He is survived by his parents Ann Doak, (m.Bill) and Richard Dickens Il, (m.Sandra). He was the eldest of 5 siblings, Angela Powers, Donna Lueders, (m. Loran), Rhonda Holler, (m. JP Tester) and Joe Doak, (m. Kim). Richard lived in St. Augustine until high school, when he moved to Marietta Ga., and graduated from Wheeler High. He was a political science major at West Georgia College. Richard has been a successful State Certified General Contractor for the past 28 years.
Upon his death, Richard had been married to Carole Dickens of St. Augustine for 35 years and is survived by her, and their two children, Lacie Paxton, (m. Easton) and Adam Dickens, (m. Courtney), along with their adopted daughter Shelby Appleget, 4 grandchildren, Truett, Reece, Owen and Everleigh Paxton, father- in law, Rev. Kermit Mathews, (m. Anne), brother-in-law, (Jeff Mathews, (m. Barbara), along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many adoring nieces and nephews. Richard is also survived by 3 children from his first marriage, Jessica, Jeremy and Jonathan Dickens.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cross Roads Community Church, 117 Pine Tree Road, East Palatka, on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10am.
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
