Richard F. Pell Sr.
Richard F. Pell Sr., of New Smyrna Beach, FL, was born on October 12, 1927 in Manhattan, NY, to the late William Pell and Lucille Pell nee Colt. He passed away on February 23, 2013 in New Smyrna Beach, FL, at the age of 85 years.
He was raised in New York City, and after serving in the US Army he went on to earn a degree in Engineering at the University of Massachusetts. Following his undergraduate degree, he obtained his Master’s degree at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Richard was employed by General Electric for 37 years, and upon his retirement moved to Florida in 1987.
He enjoyed all things with nature, gardening, taking long walks, watching movies, dining out, and most of all traveling. He will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife Judith Gerigrich Pell of 54 years, who passed away in 2008.
He is survived by his wife; Shirley Boyce Pell of New Smyrna Beach, FL, his son; Richard F. Pell Jr. of Mineola, NY, daughters; Betsy Pell of Ormond Beach, FL and Linda Nagy of Fort Pierce, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at his home, 100 Sea St. New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168
