Richard Francis Whittaker's Obituary
Richard Francis Whittaker, 78, Passed away on January 26, 2022 at his residence in Flagler beach after an extended illness.
Born in Manhattan, NY on 10/25/1942, he is preceded in death by his parents Francis Whittaker & Sadie Noselli Whittaker, and brother-in-law Joseph Canciglia, and his beloved dog Duke.
Richard is survived by his wife Tracey Whittaker, daughters Jessica Dasilva, and Julia Augur, step-daughters Kesha Voronin and Kayla Andrews, sister Margo Canciglia, nephew Joseph Canciglia and niece Serina Canciglia, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, as well as his lifetime friend John McCauley and Godson Paul McCauley.
Richard was a parishioner at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church and was a talented author, artist, architect, and realtor.
He was also a patriot, having proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, and was a champion for veterans, especially Prisoners of War and those Missing In Action.
He was a protector and advocate of family, friends, and strangers as well.
Richard experienced and achieved so much during his life, and was a beautiful example of generosity, kindness and humility.
He will be missed beyond words by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Flagler Veterans Memorial Park, 105 S 2nd St. Flagler Beach, FL 32136.
