Robert John Schwiderski's Obituary
Robert John Schwiderski was born July 4, 1948 in Renville County, Minnesota to Edward and Betty (Bregel) Schwiderski. Bob grew up in Hector where he graduated high school in 1966. He is survived by siblings, Mary, Mark, Karen, Sara, Tom, Jim, his daughter Angela Dutrieuille (Schwiderski), son Nicholaus Schwiderski, son-in-law David Dutrieuille and 5 dearly loved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Christopher Schwiderski, brothers William, Chuck and Richard.
Bob joined the army and served in Korea during the Vietnam war. When he returned to Minnesota, he married Marijo Kneer on August 2, 1975. They raised their children in International Falls, where Bob served as the Economic Development Director. Bob loved being on the water and ended up purchasing cabins on Rainy Lake. Alongside his passion for fishing and being on the water, he was an outspoken powerhouse for nearly three decades when it came to advocating for civil rights of adult survivors of sexual abuse.
After losing his son, Chriss, in 2018 Bob took residence in Florida to start a retired life. He loved every moment of it. He formed lasting new friendships over Bocce ball. Bob loved and was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
Bob passed peacefully at his Florida home on March 7, 2024. Grandpa Bob will be remembered as the kind, generous and loving man that he was. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. He will forever be our butterfly whisperer.
A private memorial service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery at a later date.
