Ronald C Mather's Obituary
Ronald Clifford Mather, 84, son of the late Lucy and Clifford Mather, passed away on July 19, 2021 at his home in Palm Coast, Fl., surrounded by his family. He was born in Fall River, MA, summered on Cape Cod, and moved to Torrance, CA with his parents in the 50's. He served his Country in the US Army before marrying his one great love. He raised the "Mather Tribe" in California and relocated to Cape Cod in 1974.
Ron answered to many names, Captain Ron, Ranger Ron, Cemetery Guy and Birdman of Brewster. He was a creative idea man ahead of his time. Selling the first pet rock and creating humorous how-to guides such as Parallel Parking in the North End and Surviving Y2K. A long-time favorite family story is how he would convince customers that the problem with their TVs were the “Shrampfs”. His quick wit and devoted presence will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
He had a love of Ancestry and traveled far and wide to cemeteries throughout the U.S. finding distant cousins for our family tree. He had vivid stories for every part of his life and always brought laughter, kindness, and generosity to all who called him friend or family.
With his five children grown and happy he moved to St. Maarten, NA with the love of his life, wife, Maxine Mather, where they lived, loved and danced carnival for 10 years. He wishes you to,
"Always have sand in your shoes and a dollar in your pocket".
He was the Best Father to his son, Rodney L. Mather of Palm Coast; and daughters, Linda S. Mather of Peabody, MA, Deborah Mulholland of Wilmington, N.C., Robyn Mather Vieira of Wakefield, MA and Kathleen Mather of Palm Coast; and Adored and Respected Grandfather to Jason, Kristina and Rachel Mulholland, Isabel and Audrey Vieira, and Great Grandfather to Capri and Connor.
In memory of Ron, make someone laugh, don’t take any wooden nickels and give without expectation.
