Roni Forshee's Obituary
Roni Forshee, born May 1, 1968, in Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, after a courageous two-year battle with triple negative breast cancer. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved her, her strength, faith, passion, and love will continue to live on through all who knew her.
Roni was a devoted mother to her daughter, Jessica Williams, and her son, Justin Williams, and a proud grandmother to Kaiden Williams and Isabella Thorpe. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world and among her greatest accomplishments. She poured endless love, encouragement, and wisdom into her family, always teaching them to live with purpose and never stop chasing their dreams.
A woman of remarkable determination, Roni worked tirelessly for years as a single mother while pursuing her education and building a life for her family. Known for her brilliant analytical mind, she excelled in her career as a pricing analyst for government contracts. Roni had an incredible gift with numbers and organization — she could make an Excel spreadsheet for virtually anything in life, a detail her family will always smile remembering.
One of her proudest accomplishments was purchasing the beachside home she had always dreamed of, a reflection of the peace and happiness she found in the ocean she loved so deeply. The beach was her sanctuary, where she felt closest to God, most alive, and most herself.
Her faith was the foundation of her life and the source of her strength, especially throughout her battle with cancer. Even in the hardest moments, Roni faced each day with grace, courage, and unwavering belief. She fought fiercely for two years with incredible resilience, inspiring everyone around her with her perseverance and hope.
Roni often spoke about living with “passion,” a word that perfectly described the way she approached life. Her motto was to live with purpose and to always go after your dreams — advice she not only gave, but embodied every single day. Despite enduring profound personal loss throughout her life, Roni remained steadfast in her faith, passionate in her pursuits, and endlessly devoted to her family.
One of the sentiments closest to Roni’s heart was the poem Footprints in the Sand, which beautifully reflected the faith she carried throughout her life. She loved the reminder that during life’s darkest and most painful moments, when only one set of footprints appears in the sand, it is not because we have been abandoned — it is because God is carrying us. That message became especially meaningful throughout her battle with cancer and the hardships she endured with unwavering faith and courage.
Now, whenever footprints are seen along the shoreline, her loved ones will think of Roni — of her love for the ocean, her enduring faith, and the strength with which she carried herself through every storm. In those quiet moments by the water, her spirit will always feel close.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Joyce Ward; her sister, Joy Webb; and her brother, Jim Ward.
She is survived by her sister, Carla Rench; her children, Jessica Williams and Justin Williams; her grandchildren, Kaiden Williams and Isabella Thorpe; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Summer Wells, Kira Rench, Cole Rench, Cory Lambert, Blake Ward, and Hunter Lambert.
Though she is no longer physically with us, the sound of the ocean, the warmth of the sun on the beach, and the footprints left in the sand will forever remind us of her love, her faith, and the beautiful life she lived.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
