Rose Lee Marsh-Ator's Obituary
Rose Lee Marsh-Ator, 78, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022 at AdventHealth Hospital in Palm Coast, Florida. Rose was born on March 5, 1944 in Early Branch, South Carolina to the late Weston Boles Sr., and Martha Capers Boles.
Rose was raised in St. Augustine, Florida. She moved to Denver, Colorado with her big sister Mary Jane after she graduated from high school. She married her first husband (Henry Lee Marsh) there in 1967. She and Henry raised three children in Denver. She returned home to Florida around 1995.
Rose was a devout and dedicated Jehovah’s Witness for more than 50 years. Her faith was of highest priority in her life. One of her favorite scriptures is Romans 8:18 & 19: “For I consider that the sufferings of the present time do not amount to anything in comparison with the glory that is going to be revealed in us. For the creation is waiting with eager expectation for the revealing of the sons of God.”
Rose was a talented brilliant entrepreneur, author, artist, and photographer. Her patience, genuine compassion, humor and appreciation for the Almighty maker shined through each and every piece of art she created, writing she inscribed, and photo she captured.
Rose is the light of her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She is the spark that empowers them. Never judging, standing by their side, every chapter of their lives; inspiring them with her never-ending priceless words of wisdom: “Life is a stage, perform with dignity.” “Sometimes you have to be bigger than life.” “Dignity, whatever you own, own it with dignity and you will always be rich!” There are no words that can truly capture how much she means to them, and how grateful they are for her untiring support. A queen, an angel with a heart of gold, Rose genuinely cherished ALL of her family.
She lived her life with grace, bravery, strength, compassion, and believed in the importance of saying “I love you” every day. She was generous and kind to all people. Her presence created a sense of calmness and peace that could be felt even in the face of chaos. She has always been so strong and intentional with her faith, with her words and with her actions yet so gentle and soft with her approach. She has dedicated her life to teaching others about our Heavenly Father and always showing genuine love to any human being in need. She has impacted so many people by being who she is, a beautiful Rose.
Born one of five siblings, Rose is survived by her brothers and sister-in-laws Weston Eugene Boles, Jr. (Callie Mae), and Charles Lanier Boles (Janice Marie). Her three children Anthony Maurice Marsh, Cheri Denise Orr and Carol Janel Schneider. Her six grandchildren Joli Cheri Amor Ramirez, Charles Dior Leigh Orr, Krista Lauren Giles, Andrew Lawrence Giles, Christopher Lawrence Giles, and Thomas Bryce Giles. Her one great grandchild, Ezra Alexander Ramirez. Her nephews and nieces: Curtis Wendell Boles, Richard Lincoln Boles, Veronica Rose Tolzier, Allen Mims, Jr., Sean Prentiss Boles, Carol Renee McBride, and Candice Nichelle Hutcherson. Her many grand nieces and nephews. And a few great grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years James Michael Ator, her parents Martha and Weston Boles, Sr., her sister Mary Jane Mims, and her brother Ernest Eugene Boles.
