Sandra "Sandy" H. Kitterman's Obituary
Sandra “Sandy” Hemming Kitterman left us on September 25, 2022, after a brief illness. Sandy was 88-years-old, and is now at peace with her husband Bill, her son Michael and, of course, the many rescue animals that she adopted through the years. She grew up in Branford, CT, but as a Navy wife, called many places home, before eventually raising her family in Branford and later retiring in Palm Coast, FL.
Sandy was a tireless nurturer and always worried about others until the end. She was so many things, including an excellent and adventurous cook; a lifetime goal achiever and team leader for Weight Watchers; an avid reader; a cribbage and card aficionado; an animal lover; a strong swimmer; an unapologetic feminist; a lover of college sweatshirts; a bionic knitter and, above all else, she was a wonderful friend and a dedicated mother.
Sandy leaves her children: Bill and his wife Jami; Michael’s wife Susan; Melissa and her partner Dan; her grandchildren: Paige and her husband Jeremy; Will; Ali and her fiancé Eric; and her great grandson Lincoln. She also leaves so many great friends all across the country, many of whom would share recipes, stories and help to shelter animals.
If looking for a way to honor her, donations in her memory to Flagler County or your local animal shelter would be suggested. Sandy will be greatly missed by everyone and dinners will never be the same. She did it her way. There will be a Celebration of Life in the spring that will reunite Sandy with her son Michael and husband Bill in Branford, CT.
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service of Bunnell, FL is assisting the family with arrangements.
