Shirley J Iannotti's Obituary
Shirley Jean Ramsay Iannotti, 70, passed away on January 24, 2025, with her loving family by
her side, after a long and beautiful life.
Shirley was born on November 14th, 1954, at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. She was a
proud Florida girl who graduated from Mainland High School. She married Fred Iannotti in 1972
and welcomed son Clint in 1975. They lived on Riverside Drive in Holly Hill until they built their
home in Bunnell in 1981.
As a young girl, Shirley enjoyed riding her horse Whiskey and raising her parakeets. After she
married, she and Fred enjoyed seeing the country, as traveling truckers, carrying precious cargo
across the country. They sent son Clint post cards from their many travels, while he stayed with
grandparents awaiting their return. Once Clint went to school, Shirley excelled in her talent
working as a florist, creating beautiful arrangements, surpassing even the store owner’s
creativity. She had hoped to one day own her own flower shop, but the family kept her busy at
home. Shirley’s talent extended to her home decorating, jewelry making and silk arrangements
she made for family and friends. Her many paintings are hanging in the homes of friends and in
her family vacation home, in the mountains of North Carolina.
As a grandma, Shirley enjoyed helping raise two of her grandchildren, Ben and Matt, as they
came to stay at the farm with Grandma, several days a week as toddlers. She and Fred
enjoyed remodeling their weekend home in Palatka, including fishing with the grandkids and
riding the pontoon boat on the St. Johns River. They loved the neighborhood clubhouse parties
with friends where so many of them enjoyed the beauty and joy of Shirley’s laugh. Everyone
loved her laugh!
In her golden years, Shirley struggled with the onset of Parkinson’s Disease and the struggles
that sickness brought on her body. Her family spent many days visiting in the hospital, or
welcoming her home, with weekend cookouts and sitting by the campfire. We especially
enjoyed celebrating her final birthday, her 70th, as a family, relishing her birthday dinner, king
crab legs and delicious cupcakes, just what Shirley requested!
Shirley is predeceased by her parents Evelyn and Stuart Ramsay, her brother Charles Ramsay
and brother-in-law Mike Harrison.
She is survived by her loving husband Fred, devoted son Clint, daughter-in-law Kendra,
grandsons Ben and Matt, granddaughter Allie Hoffman with husband Noah, and great-grandson
Theo Hoffman; her brother John Ramsay, sister-in-law Marilyn Ramsay, niece and family Jill
and Rob Doeing, great-niece Amanda Hickey, and great-nephew Robert Jr., nephew and family
Johnny Ramsay and great-niece Harper; and sister-in-law Irene Harrison, niece Christine
Stubbs and great-nephew Jude.
To honor Shirley, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at Parkview Church (5435 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast), on Saturday, March 1st at 10:30am. Fellowship with family and friends will follow the service in the multi-purpose room.
