Stephen Douglas Jenkins' Obituary
Stephen D. Jenkins of Palm Coast, Florida, a beloved husband and father, died on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 in Daytona Beach. He was 69 years old.
Stephen was born in 1952 in Hillsboro, Oregon to parents Donald and Virginia Jenkins. Stephen was raised in Beaverton, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. After graduating from Portland State University in 1977, Stephen’s career led him to many places, but most notably to become a Police officer in the Beaverton Police Department.
He loved baseball and grew up watching the New York Yankees. In fact, when he was a boy, he believed the definition of the World Series was "the Yankees playing another team".
Traveling to a tropical location and sitting by the pool with a cold beer in his hand was his favorite pastime, especially when in the company of family, or close friends. He loved flying down to Cabo San Lucas, and cruising the Caribbean.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Lois; three children: Katie (Shane), Doug (Jordan), and Dan; two stepchildren: Laura (Andy) and Kenneth; and three grandchildren; and his brother, David (Barbara).
Stephen’s priorities were his family; God; and his dogs, Chloe and Thor.
The giant smile on his face will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service for Stephen will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00AM at the Cedar Mill Bible Church at 12208 NW Cornell Rd, Portland, OR 97229.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation
